Operations

  • Group size: Up to 9 people; final group size is confirmed about one day before departure.

  • Meet your guide: A short meet-up the day before to review details and answer questions.

  • Pickup/Drop-off: From your Chiang Mai accommodation on trek day.
  • Who runs the trek: We organize and guide everything ourselves—no hand-offs to other companies.

  • Choosing a route: Pick an existing trek, or we’ll customize one tailored to your interests.

Safety & Insurance

  • Accident insurance: Included on all treks.
  • Registration: Our treks are registered with the Tourism Police of Thailand.

  • Trail decisions: Pace, distances, and river activities are adjusted to season, water levels, and group ability.

  • Licensed guide: Your guide is experienced, local, and licensed.

Meals & Dietary

  • What you’ll eat: Western-style breakfast; Thai/Karen dinners; seasonal fruit; village-prepared lunches on some routes.

  • Dietary needs: Vegetarian/vegan/allergies welcome—please tell us when you enquire so we can plan ingredients.

  • Local touch: You may see traditional rice pounding or cooking over an open fire in the village.

Tip: Bring a reusable bottle; water/soft drinks can be purchased in villages.

Packing & Dress

Essentials:
Daypack • Torch/flashlight • Basic first-aid + personal medication • Insect repellent • Sun hat/cream • Camera

Clothing:
Hiking shoes + sandals • Knee-length shorts & long trousers • Light rain layer • Pullover/fleece • Swimsuit & towel/sarong

  • Seasonal note (Nov–Feb): Nights can be very cold—pack warm layers; a thermal sleeping bag is optional.
  • Provided in villages: Mosquito nets, blankets, sleeping bags (bring your own if you prefer).

  • Cultural dress: Please dress modestly (shoulders covered; knee-length shorts).

  • Changing: Toilets available at waterfalls, villages, and rafting camps.

Money & Extras

  • Cash: About THB 2,000 in small notes for drinks, handicrafts, and tips.

  • Drinks: Water/soft drinks are available in villages (own expense).

  • Thoughtful gifts (optional): School supplies, blankets, warm clothes—especially useful in winter.

  • Responsible travel: We do not include elephant activities. We focus on nature, culture, and community.
